Ok, Crazy Little Google Things I Noticed....

So, I am am still trying to get caught up on all of my online stuff.  I finally finished up my first Squidoo Lens a couple weeks ago.  Although many things have not changed, like when you do not post regularly Google doesn't like you as much, other things have changed since I saw them last...

First off, I am still fighting about doing Video but tonight I realized that I HAVE to.  Have you all seen this?  If we/I do not hop in on the Video Craze, could that potentially Bye-Bye on several Google Searches?

That means that a Consumer can choose whether or not the ONLY want to view Video?  Holy Cow!  That is Huge. Looks like I will be entering the Active Rain Video Contest.

Now, while I was cruising around I also noticed something odd.  Localism Pictures show up before my blog?  Oh My!  Way to go Active Rain!  And by the way, this is the FIRST page of Google for the search term above.

So, what else have I missed?  Do you all have any other good or maybe bad news when it come to Google?

Comments

wow...that is very interesting...I will need to address this and get on the video bandwagon.

I may be the only one left in America who doesn't like video all that much (at least in blogs).  They take a while to load, and you don't know how much of your time they'll consume.  Give me some nice graphics I can scroll through at my own pace.

Hey DiMuria,  I couldn't believe it!  About fell out of my chair!

Hi Brian,  I really don't like video either...but if it means losing Google places....well.  I didn't put all of this time in to blogs for nothing.  :)  Guess we have to adapt to change yet again.

Sorry Stephanie,

I'll tell those pesky programmers of ours to take it easy on the Google juice ;-)

You see I love video. But it is very time consuming. When will I have time to for work.

I will have to put it in I guess. No sleep for me tonight.

Hey Bob,  LOL.  The pictures on Localism for that search are mine anyway.  :)  I remember when folks complained that Localism didn't get enough Google juice....You guys have done an awesome job!

Hi Abuid,  I hear ya!  Maybe practice makes perfect and less time consuming?  I sure hope so.

Stephanie, this is a very disturbing development.  Television made reading unnessary.  Know people are not going to read on the net.  The thinks to come.  It is sad people have a new way to avoid reading.

Video! I'm still trying to figure out how to get Google to rank me higher than the 50th page.

Hey Sally,  I know.  Isn't it neat.  :)  Now, if people can choose to only watch video...that means we have no choice but to adapt.

Hey Jimmy, I agree.  It is pretty disturbing in more ways than one.  Bob wrote the other day how Google will adapt...well, looks like they have started already.

Hey Gerry,  LOL.  Tags.  Work on your tags.

Hi Colleen, Thanks.  Took me hours to do that...actually days.  Have fun with it if you decide to do one!  :)

Stephanie~ Great points.  It's so hard to keep up on all the things that we all need to do to stay on top in the search engines.  BTW, I like your new picture.  (I liked the other one as well but it is a cool logo that shows what you are up to.

Steff...

If you haven't already done so...

Go read "Father Of Kelan's" (Bob Stewart's) last post along with the comments.

I thought it pretty much wrapped it up :)
