Did you know that there was a America Recycles Day? On November 15th every year the National Recycling Coalition hosts this event. This will be the 10th year that Americans across the nation get together to Recycle and Purchase Recycled Products. Not only that, they learn the benefits of it.
There is some amazing information on their website about what kind of products are made of recycled products. A few are Surfboards, T-shirts, Marbles, Bikes...the list goes on.
They also a website set up where you can send FREE E-Cards to people you know to remind them of them of the event.
So, what are you doing on November 15th? I have a few containers of stuff that I need to take to the recycling center, maybe I'll wait until then. :)
For information on Recycling Centers in the Spring and Woodlands Area, you can visit a previous post of mine:

Stephanie, I looked up Michigan and found out their day was October 25th. Sniff.
Hey Gary, that's odd. I checked it out. Texas is all of November.
Ohhh It's deer hunting season..... Makes sense to me now! Oakland County belongs to NoHaz, a great program for recycling and hazardous wastes
Hi Stephanie! November 15 is also opening day in Michigan for Rifle/Shotgun Deer hunting season for 15 days. Oh...I just read Gary's comment! November 15 is like a National Holiday in many places of Michigan. GREAT tourism opportunities! I would say it might be a ladies recycling day but I know many hunt and also many who have other festivities planned! That is why I was worried about our first Green Drinks being on the 14th~
Great highlight! Interesting how it is supposed to be "national" yet some have other days on schedule -- just shows how important LOCALISM is!
What do you mean by Surfboards?!!!! LOL My husband would kill me, he is an avid surfer. :0)
Thank you for the reminder, I knew something was happening on Nov. 15, but could not remember.
Stephanie - I love to see large organizations who take the time to recycle. The Orange County Board of Realtors in Laguna Hills, California has containers in their public areas specifically for bottles and cans. So glad to see they're being proactive about recycling.
